Crystal-clear glacial water in a rift fissure at Þingvellir National Park on the Golden Circle

Private Tour · 7–8 Hours

Golden Circle Tour

Iceland's most celebrated route, taken at your own pace — with nobody else on board.

The Experience

Golden Circle, Privately

The Golden Circle is the classic introduction to Iceland: three of the country's defining sights, all within a couple of hours of Reykjavík. Almost every visitor sees them. Very few see them the way you will — in a private vehicle, on your own timetable, with a guide whose only job today is you.

That difference is mostly about timing. We leave when it suits you, reach Gullfoss before or after the coaches, and stay at Strokkur until you have the eruption you wanted on camera. Nothing is rushed and nothing is skipped; if a stop delights you, we simply linger.

Your driver-guide knows the roads in every season and where the light falls at each hour, and will shape the day around your interests — geology, history, photography, food, or simply the pleasure of the landscape.

Stop by Stop

The Journey

  1. Þingvellir National Park

A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of the Icelandic nation: the Alþingi, one of the world's oldest parliaments, was founded here in 930 AD. Walk the Almannagjá gorge where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates pull apart, and look down into Silfra, a rift filled with some of the clearest water on Earth.

  2. Geysir geothermal area

The hot spring that gave every geyser its name. The Great Geysir itself now sleeps, but its neighbour Strokkur erupts every five to ten minutes, hurling a column of boiling water fifteen to twenty metres into the air. Your guide will position you where the wind keeps the spray away and the light is right.

  3. Gullfoss waterfall

The Golden Falls: the glacial river Hvítá drops in two stages, 32 metres in total, into a narrow canyon that seems to swallow it whole. On a sunny day the mist throws rainbows across the gorge; in winter the cliffs are sheathed in ice. Two viewing levels give very different perspectives, and we take time for both.

  4. Kerið volcanic crater

A 3,000-year-old crater with rust-red slopes and an opaque, aquamarine lake at its floor. A short walk around the rim, or down to the water's edge, makes a striking contrast to the waterfalls and geysers of the day.

  5. Lunch and warm water, your way

Lunch is often at Friðheimar, where tomatoes grow year-round under geothermal light and are served in the greenhouse itself. Afterwards, guests who want to unwind can soak at the Secret Lagoon in Flúðir or Laugarvatn Fontana — we reserve tables and tickets in advance so nothing waits on you.
