Golden Circle, Privately Operated
The Golden Circle is the classic introduction to Iceland: three of the country's defining sights, all within a couple of hours of Reykjavík. Almost every visitor sees them. The clients you place with One Luxury see them in a private vehicle, with a driver-guide dedicated to their party and to the programme you have built for them.
We operate to your itinerary. Where the programme allows, the guide times the day around the crowds — Gullfoss before or after the coaches, Strokkur until the eruption is on camera — and nothing on the schedule is rushed or skipped.
Our driver-guides know the roads in every season and where the light falls at each hour, and they read the interests of the guests on the day — geology, history, photography, food, or simply the landscape — within the frame you have set.

The Journey
Typical stops. We never run a fixed route: the stops, their order and the timings are agreed with you for each programme and adjusted on the day for weather and road conditions.
Þingvellir National Park
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of the Icelandic nation: the Alþingi, one of the world's oldest parliaments, was founded here in 930 AD. Guests walk the Almannagjá gorge where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates pull apart, and look down into Silfra, a rift filled with some of the clearest water on Earth.
Geysir geothermal area
The hot spring that gave every geyser its name. The Great Geysir itself now sleeps, but its neighbour Strokkur erupts every five to ten minutes, hurling a column of boiling water fifteen to twenty metres into the air. The guide positions guests where the wind keeps the spray away and the light is right.
Gullfoss waterfall
The Golden Falls: the glacial river Hvítá drops in two stages, 32 metres in total, into a narrow canyon that seems to swallow it whole. On a sunny day the mist throws rainbows across the gorge; in winter the cliffs are sheathed in ice. Two viewing levels give very different perspectives, and where the programme allows we take time for both.
Kerið volcanic crater
A 3,000-year-old crater with rust-red slopes and an opaque, aquamarine lake at its floor. A short walk around the rim, or down to the water's edge, makes a striking contrast to the waterfalls and geysers of the day.
Lunch and warm water
Lunch is often at Friðheimar, where tomatoes grow year-round under geothermal light and are served in the greenhouse itself. Afterwards, guests who want to unwind can soak at the Secret Lagoon in Flúðir, Laugarás Lagoon or Laugarvatn Fontana — and if requested, we reserve tables and tickets in advance so nothing waits on them.
